Came across this portrait of Harold Wilson by Ruskin Spear which captures Wilson’s personality perfectly. With a General Election underway, it got me thinking about the political portrait and lo, here is Lydia Figes with an excellent story around the portraits of our Post-War Prime Ministers.
Thankfully, the revolving door bunch from the past 14 years aren’t included in this! Although I am sure there was a set of portraits in the style of Francis Bacon’s Screaming Pope out there, which are totally suitable!
