This privately owned statue, ‘Girl with a comb in her hair’, sold at Bonhams recently for over £262,000. For once, I can’t write about the artist, Eric Gill, as there is nothing redeeming we can say about the man, himself. His art is quite beautiful and it is subject to the debate on how far we can separate the character from the art.
