Victor Servranckx

It being such a sunny day, my thoughts would usually turn to the dark and disturbing…but not today as I’ve been looking at a Belgian abstract artist by the name of Victor Servranckx.

He remained true to his belief of abstract art throughout his career and I am particularly drawn to his abstract-geometric work, especially this:

The distillation of form into shapes creates a real understanding of the original concept and this is strangely soothing on the eye as you take it in. As well as the use of colour and shape, this also connects with my love of early cinema and I can see links with the American Precisionists too.

For some of his other works, take a look at this website
